YRP HEADQUARTERS - CCRSA

YORK REGIONAL POLICE - September 24, 2025

Thank you to everyone the signed the petition for more enforcement on Hwy 50

A big thank you to Amanda Corbett for her delegation at York Regional Police Headquarters about what’s happening on our roads.

Amanda pushed for:

  • More enforcement on Highway 50, Nashville Road, and Cold Creek and Major Mackenzie and Hwy 50

  • More police presence on all York Region roads close to Caledon

At the meeting, Regional Councillor Jackson said she knows how bad it is, especially at Nashville and Highway 50, and stressed that our community deserves safer roads.

Chief MacSween also agreed this is an important issue and shared that Deputy Chief McCloskey will be following up with CCRSA to talk about next steps.

This shows that when our community speaks up, leaders are listening. But we need to keep the pressure on. Unsafe driving and illegal truck activity are still a daily problem.

Thank you, Amanda, for raising your voice for all of us. Together, we’ll keep pushing for safer roads in al our communities.
