Illegal Land Use Map - Town of Caledon

Big News:

Caledon’s Illegal Land Use Map is Now Live!

The Town of Caledon has officially launched its Illegal Land Use Map!

We encourage everyone to explore the map, especially if you live near or commute past areas of concern. Stay informed about illegal lots in your community, and if you notice any changes, report them to Caledon by-law by calling 311 or emailing info@caledon.ca.

Understanding the Map:

Yellow Dot – Ongoing by-law complaint.

Black Dot – Closed complaint (either invalid, resolved, or escalated to another stage like court).

Red Pin – Legal action has been taken or is in progress.

Bottom Left Corner – Displays the number of active cases and prosecutions.

Click on a Dot – View additional details about the property, including case status. Some entries may have multiple pages of information, so be sure to check for navigation arrows at the bottom of the pop-up window.

This map will be regularly updated, so keep checking back if you have concerns about a particular property—by-law enforcement may already be addressing it. While the current details are limited, we’re advocating for more transparency, including specifics on violations, court dates, and case numbers.

A huge thank you to the Town of Caledon staff for making this resource available! This is a significant step forward in keeping residents informed and tackling illegal land use in our communities. There's still more work to do, but this tool is a game-changer in the fight against unlawful yards.

Let’s keep the momentum going!
